Length: Approx. 8 - 10 mm     Wing span: Approx.14 - 20 mm 
Easily distinguished from other grain pests with peculiar markings of its forewings which are reddish brown with a copper luster on the outer two-thirds but whitish gray on the inner or body ends. Fully grown larva are dirty white, sometimes varying to greenish and pinkish hues. Larva spins a silken cocoon and transforms into a light-brown pupa from which the adult moth develops and later emerges.
