Stuart Frank is a native of Nebraska. He earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Agricultural Economics from the University of Nebraska, and his Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from The Ohio State University.
Dr. Frank was appointed Acting Deputy Administrator for Packers and Stockyards Program, within the Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA) of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) on July 10, 2017. In that role, he is responsible for a program that ensures fair and competitive marketing for the livestock, meat, and poultry industries for the benefit of American Agriculture.
Prior to this appointment, Dr. Frank had served as the Director of Packers and Stockyards Program’s Midwestern Regional Office in Des Moines, Iowa, since July 2012.
